National Coordination Unit (NCU) of the Bulgarian Government

The Bulgarian National Coordination Unit (NCU), established as part of “Monitoring of EU Funds Directorate” of the Council of Ministers, is responsible for the steering of the Swiss-Bulgarian Cooperation Programme on behalf of Bulgaria. This, among others, involves orientation and identification, pre-selection, planning, implementation, financial management, controlling and evaluation of projects and programmes related to environment and infrastructure and private sector promotion focus areas where the counterpart on the Swiss side is the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).

Swiss Embassy

The Swiss Embassy in Sofia is responsible for ensuring that the Program is steered in an efficient and effective manner and that the required data for informed decision making is provided. The Embassy will also secure that proposed projects take into account Swiss expectations and that information about the Swiss Contribution is promptly and accurately provided to the interested parties but also from executing entities and beneficiaries to the public in general. The tasks of the Swiss Embassy will include also facilitation of contacts, assure the liaison and the networking between the partners involved as well as informing and giving advices on procedures and conditions of the program.
