Switzerland supports the Czech Republic with a total amount of 109,780 million Swiss francs (approximately 67,528 million EUR) over five years (2008 – 2012). These funds are part of the Swiss contribution to the ten states that joined the European Union on 1st May 2004. The overall goal of the Swiss contribution is to reduce economic and social disparities within the enlarged European Union.

Projects
The first Projects in the frame of the Swiss contribution to the Czech Republic have already been approved. Here you can find a list with all approved and planned Projects.
Thematic priorities
Switzerland’s cooperation with the Czech Republic aims at improving and promoting basic infrastructure and environment, health care, private sector development, research, town twinnings and NGO activities.
Project selection and Contract awarding
Projects are selected by the National Coordination Unit NCU (Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic - EU and International Relations Department) according to the thematic priorities and procedures outlined in the Swiss-Czech Framework Agreement. Project proposals have to be submitted to the NCU (which may also propose projects itself), which will then forward them to the competent Swiss authority for approval.
