Environment and infrastructure: Waste, waste-water management, reduction of pollutant emissions/greenhouse gases, and the increase of energy efficiency, as well as the modernization of public transport are all urgent concerns in the partner countries. Rehabilitation and modernisation of basic infrastructure: to enhance public environmental monitoring capacities in order to reduce environmental pollution, increase living standards and promote sustainable economic development. Improvement of the environment: to reduce greenhouse gases and other emissions by increasing energy efficiency in public buildings and development of new building standards.
