Switzerland supports Lithuania with a total amount of 70.86 million Swiss francs (approximately 43.88 million EUR ) over five years (2008 – 2012). These funds are part of the Swiss contribution to the ten states that joined the European Union on 1st May 2004. The overall goal of the Swiss contribution is to reduce economic and social disparities within the enlarged European Union.


Projects

The first Projects in the frame of the Swiss contribution to Lithuania have already been approved. Here you can find a list with all approved and planned Projects.


Thematic priorities
Switzerland’s cooperation  with  Lithuania aims at improving environment and infrastructure, supporting human and social development and promoting NGO activities.


Project selection and Contract awarding
Projects are selected by the National Coordination Unit NCU (Ministry of Finance of Lithuania, International Financial Assistance Coordination Division ) according to the thematic priorities and procedures outlined in the Swiss - Lithuanian Framework Agreement.  Project proposals have to be submitted to the NCU  ( which may also propose projects itself ), which will then forward them to the competent Swiss authority for approval.
