Swiss Contribution Main Page
Switzerland supports the Slovak Republic with a total amount of 66,866 million Swiss francs (approximately 41,130 million EUR) over five years (2008 – 2012). These funds are part of the Swiss contribution to the ten states that joined the European Union on 1st May 2004. The overall goal of the Swiss contribution is to reduce economic and social disparities within the enlarged European Union.

Thematic priorities
Switzerland’s cooperation with the Slovak Republic aims at improving and promoting basic infrastructure and environment, private sector development, research, town twinnings and NGO activities.

Project selection and Contract awarding
Projects are selected by the National Coordination Unit "NCU" (Government Office of the Slovak Republic - Department for management and implementation of financial mechanisms) according to the thematic priorities and procedures outlined in the Swiss-Slovak Framework Agreement. Project proposals have to be submitted to the NCU (which may also propose projects itself), which will then forward them to the competent Swiss authority for approval.
