Switzerland supports Slovenia with a total amount of 21.956 million Swiss francs over five years (2008 – 2012). These funds are part of the Swiss contribution to the twelve states that joined the European Union since May 2004. The overall goal of the Swiss contribution is to reduce economic and social disparities within the enlarged European Union.

Projects
Almost all Projects in the frame of the Swiss contribution to Slovenia have already been approved. Here you can find a list with all approved and planned Projects.

Thematic priorities
Switzerland’s cooperation with Slovenia aims at improving and promoting basic infrastructure and environment, health care, private sector development, research, town twinnings and NGO activities.

Project selection
Projects are selected by the National Coordination Unit NCU (Government Office for European Affairs) according to the thematic priorities and procedures outlined in the Swiss-Slovenian Framework Agreement. Project proposals have to be submitted to the NCU (which may also propose projects itself), which will then forward them to the competent Swiss authority for approval.
